Our cluster had the honour of hosting Respected Madam Ms. Amrit Raj, the esteemed Development Commissioner (Handicrafts). Shri. Archit Sahare, Assistant Director (Handicrafts), Shri. Kunal, HPO, Smt. Vijaya, and Shri. Ajeet from Handicraft Service Centre, Bhopal were also present during the visit. Her visit was a momentous occasion, in our ongoing efforts to uplift the artisans and enhance the quality of their work. With her approach and genuine concern for the well-being of the artisans, Ms. Raj’s visit left a lasting impact on everyone involved.

She was welcomed by each and every artisan in the CFC (Common Facility Centre) by presenting flowers after that she interacted directly with the artisans, who were ready to show their handcrafted products and discuss their work. Ms. Raj’s primary focus was on ensuring that the financial aspects of the artisans’ lives were being managed with transparency.

She Appreciated the artisan’s work which were presented in the display she was happy to see the quality and creativity that the artisans brought to their craft, their dedication and the skill. She also praised the efforts of implementing agency Sathiya Welfare Society that formed the Khushali Artisan Handicraft Producer Company Ltd. with the involvement of artisans as directors and the continuous handholding being done. She also appraised the mode of work and financial & digital literacy of artisans that is being increased continuously.

The visit also provided a valuable platform for the artisans to voice their needs and aspirations. They took this opportunity to communicate their challenges and the areas where they sought further support from the Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts). Among their requests were improved access to raw materials, which would enable them to work more efficiently and with greater consistency. Additionally, the artisans highlighted the need for advanced training programs to refine their skills and stay competitive in the evolving market. Finally, they expressed a strong desire for better market linkages, which would allow them to reach a broader audience and increase their income levels. Ms. Amrit Raj’s visit was more than just a formal event, her genuine interest in their well-being and her recognition of their hard work has inspired the cluster.
